In another world, not so very far off, There are creatures lurking out in the open. Invisible as the blustering four winds, They overwhelm like wildfire in the tree tops. Long ago, in a time that draws ever near These creatures throve across most of what exists. They would come like waves through towns and villages Causing peoples and creatures to hide in fear. Near the middle of the world is where they dwelled, But they slowly journeyed further north and south Where they found homes in flatlands and thereabouts Traveling through hot springs where they mingled well. But, the tales were rarely of the cheerful sort From the tellers who encountered the monsters, Or so they were called by traders and hunters, The creatures having built a fearsome report. Such was the understanding of a young sprite. Elvia by name, curious by nature. She often played in the woods by the river, Climbing trees and swimming to her heart’s delight.
She had heard tales in town of the loathsome folk, And she heard travelers tell tales on the road. But never had she seen those of whom they spoke So she began to think it was all a joke. After all, life was a joke to Elvia. She played tricks on travelers and stole for fun. She’d taunt big bulky men till the day was done Making children lost was fun for Elvia. She could be mean, but she could also be sweet. She loved to dance with the kind, and play music For the lost, lonesome, or those who could use it. And she loved to listen to a good story. That is how Elvia got caught in a mess. She was caught up in a curious story. A story shared with her one foggy morning. One which put her spritely spirit to the test.

And so the tale begins...caught up in a mess, heh?
Great story, and I really enjoyed the audio that went along with it. 😀
