There's time, and then there is time... Like, that one time when we tried to sneak pocket-loads of candy into the theater in our cargo shorts, but the ticket taker was in a wheelchair... Or, that time we chugged two liters of Dr. Pepper and spent the rest of the night puking... Time can be stupid. Like right now. It is 9:00 a.m. and I am making no memories while getting paid practically nothing for a job that determines kids' future wellbeing. There's time, and then there is time... which can never be saved or hoarded away. Time can only be spent. It can only be used. And there's so little choice in time. Unless, we are talking about that time when we had nothing to do, so we walked to the ice cream shop. And, while walking back we found a golfball, named it and pretended it was our child for the rest of the semester... Or, that time when we should have studied for the final the next day, but stayed up late watching The Godfather instead... Now I watch the clock. It is 9:33 a.m. and there are three hours until lunch. Time can be wasted. Time can be spent. Time best spent is the time we waste, with so many demands on our time every day. Like times I worked 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. or even from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Those Saturdays lesson planning I won't get back, nor the Sundays delivering packages. Like right now at 9:41 a.m. while I just want to go home. What a waste of time I spend to get paid. But, those times we spent paddling through turtle heaven... we have that time forever... There's time, and then there is time... Most of the time my time is taken. My time is theirs. But, now and then our time is shared. When time is ours we surpass the hours...
